World Mental Health Day posted - 10/Oct/2017
Today NVC is supporting World Mental Health Day, a day for mental health education and advocacy. 1 in 5 Australians are affected by mental illness, yet many don’t seek help due to the stigma associated. The misunderstanding and prejudice around mental illness is delaying and preventing people from feeling able to seek help and adversely impacting their lives. The “Do you see what I see?” Campaign challenges perceptions around mental illness in Australia and encourages everyone to look at mental health in a more positive light, in an effort to reduce stigma and make way for more people to seek the support and help they might need.
